Three quilts by Donna

Donna usually brings me multiple quilts at a time, and here are three to share with you.  Donna likes to take part in Bonnie Hunter’s Mystery quilt-alongs, and this first quilt is Celtic Solstice from Bonnie’s 2013 quilt along.

Donna wanted to use the same pantograph as in Bonnie’s quilt, here is a close-up of Celtic Curlz by Patricia E. Ritter & Marybeth O'Halloran.  We used a mocha coloured thread to coordinate with the background fabric.

Donna almost always pieces her quilt backs.

Here is a close-up of the back which shows off the quilting.

The front of this quilt is fantastic, however the back with the quilting has a lovely modern look to it, I like both front and back.

Mystery Quilt

The second quilt that Donna brought me was Bonnie Hunter’s 2012 Mystery quilt which Donna did in Turquoises and Limes.

For this quilt Donna chose the Blowin’ Wind pantograph by Jodi Beamish and we used a pale aqua thread called cloud.

Once again Donna pieced the back, using beautiful pieces of colour along with some pieced triangle blocks.

And again, I love the look of the back as well as the front.

The last quilt which Donna brought me in this set of three is a Red/Green/Beige Christmas looking quilt.

Completed with the Double Plume pantograph by Keryn Emmerson and a chestnut colour thread.

Three beautiful quilts.  As with many of us who like to quilt, we have more quilts than we, our families and our friends can use.  Donna likes to donate her quilts to charity, and I believe at least a couple of these have been donated.
