Diane’s Lime Green quilt

A striking modern looking quilt by Diane, I’m not sure if she had anyone in mind when she made this quilt. Diane is very giving and very prolific with her quilt making.

This beauty was completed using the Baptist Fan pantograph by Hermione Agee and a Celery coloured thread.

If you can believe it, this is the back of the quilt, striking either way.

And doesn’t the Baptist fan pantograph show up nicely on the back?

Reference to 'lime juice' being prescribed to sailors, date back to the 1700s, are found in the journals of ships' doctors treating scurvy. 'Lime juice', or fresh citrus fruits and juices were found to be the most successful at treating this disease.

RSC Dark October Colours

Friday evening was spent in sewing black, grey and brown (I prefer chocolate) blocks for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge.  I have a little book where I keep track of quilts in progress to see what I needed to finish up some of my rainbow projects.

For my Scrappy Trip Along I needed two more chocolate blocks, so took a look through my precut 2 ½ inch strips from previous evenings of scrap management and made a couple of blocks.  Now I just need to make three more yellow and six turquoise and the Scrappy Trip Along blocks with be finished and make a very large quilt.

My Rainbow of Hearts quilt needed two more black and grey blocks, so I found some lovely little bits of these colours in my scraps.  Just two more royal blue blocks needed to finish this project and decide on a layout for this quilt.
Black and Grey Heart blocks
As a somewhat mindless way to just sew and finish the evening I worked on a couple of grey slabs, my slabs are the beginning of another Rainbow quilt project.

Rainbow projects still in progress to be continued into next year:
Wonky Churn Dash – Well begun
Rainbow Mile a Minute – I’m sewing the top together
Paint Box – Need 11 more blocks in various colours
Black and White Crazy Patch (with a dash of colour) – just a couple more blocks to go

Could that really be all?  Maybe I’m closer than I think!

Snuggle Up baby quilt by Margaret

A delightful baby quilt by Margaret, Snuggle Up is from the book P.S. I Love You Three! By Lynda Milligan.

To complete this quilt Margaret chose the ‘I Love It!’ pantograph by Anne Bright and a pink/blue variegated thread.

Isn’t this a lovely baby gift?

From the moment they placed you in my arms you snuggled right into my heart.
